Nestled beneath the Rocky and Mission Mountains in Lakeside, Montana, near the shores of beautiful Flathead Lake Tamarack Brewing Company is a place of fun, laughter and quality homebrewed drinks. High ceilings, fascinating architectural details and a warm ambience help make The ‘Rack the best spot in the Flathead Valley to relax with great food and handcrafted ales. The creek side patio is the perfect place to hang out and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. Tamarack is certainly a casual brew pub where people can enjoy simple yet wonderful pub fare and ales in an unassuming and friendly atmosphere.
There is a lot of variety to try at the Tamarack Brewing Company when it comes to beer. One of their latest offerings, vanilla bourbon stout is an Imperial-style stout that is aged for three months in used Canadian Rye whiskey barrels. With vanilla beans added to the barrels during aging, there is a sweet subtle flavor behind big chewy roasted coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate flavors. Noticeable alcohol character in the aroma, with oak, dark chocolate, and vanilla prune flavors make this brew simply irresistible. Another great drink to try is the Yard Sale Amber which is made from Montana 2-row barley, toasted munich, caramel and a touch of chocolate malts that form a rich backbone to balance Fuggle and Northern Brewer hops. Deep mahogany in color with a tan head, this filtered amber ale has a smooth drinkability and a sweet finish.
Other than great quality drinks and amazing atmosphere Tamarack Brewing Company is also popular for its fun weekly events. On Mondays if you bring your kids along with you then they will get to eat for free. Tuesdays they have trivia night. You can play as a team or individually and while having fun with others you also get to win cool prizes, etc. Similarly they have fixed events for days every week.
With your drinks you can pair great food at Tamarack. They have an impressive variety of food items to choose from and every single one of them is made from scratch. Make it a point to order their prime rib sandwich (which is served like a French dip with au jus). The meat is incredibly tender, and although the bread looks a little hard, it’s incredible nonetheless. You can also take it with cheese if you like.
