2nd Chance Reggae – Port Saint Lucie, FL

From a very young age 2nd Chance knew what he wanted to do in life- sing and make music. He always enjoyed playing music and later on started singing too, and it became his passion. He led various music groups such as Zamar, Blake band, and The Children of Light and was a part of them for a long time. With God’s grace he was able to perform at various places such as Canada, Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico and all over US. He has even shared stages with veteran and popular musicians such as Shelly Thunder, Tye Tribbett, Peninsilyn, Mikey Spice, Chevelle Franklin, Papa San, DJ Nicholas, Alvin Slaughter, Pettidee, Cece Winans and many others.

It was 1998 when 2nd Chance recorded his first album titled Mission Fi God as a part of the Blake band. His second album titled Hold On was launched in 2004, although after facing a lot of obstacles. It was the reason why he took up the name 2nd Chance for the album was a second chance he was blessed with.

2nd Chance met GeeJam’s music engineer and producer Dale Virgo in 2007 and soon developed a bond with them both. He ended up getting a professional deal with them. However, there was a big obstacle- he had to finish recording an album in mere 2 weeks! However, he took the challenge and recorded the album in the allotted time and he titled it Walk Gud. The album immediately got him recognition on a national level and as fate would have it Dr. Drizzle sought him and brought out a new sound from him. A few months later they both got together and recorder another album. This time Drizzle had 2nd Chance play bass and keyboards on Heavenly Highway which would be their fourth album. The album consisted of songs that were inspired by the Heavenly Highway hymnal and they brought out the true beautiful side of 2nd Chance.

2nd Chance has won many awards and accolades in life, some of which include Marlin Award Nomination for Adapted Traditional Recording of the Year for the song Hold My Hand feat Peninsilyn from the album Walk Gud in 2008, Hopeton Lewis Award for Top Caribbean Gospel Song of the Year for the song May Pen Medley from the self titled album in 2010, etc. You can listen to his songs on the Internet and get to know his music better.
